Working Cattle Ranch Setting...
Our ranch is four miles from Ragged Mountain on 640 acres of small parks, scrub oak ridges an groves of quaking Aspen. Most of the surrounding area is similar in terrain with small lakes, beaver dams and small streams.
We lease 7,000 acres of private property adjoining the ranch in addition to 16,000 acres of the Gunnison National Forest in the area surrounding the ranch. We are the only registered outfitter in this area of the national forest.
Our lodge is at 7,500 feet in elevation. We hunt to the base of the Ragged mountain ranch, which is at 8,000 feet. We use Polaris four-wheel drive ATVs and walk to get around the area.
We are a family-owned ranch hunting service which is owned and run by the entire Lampton family, from the cook to the firewood chopper. Our guides and packers know their business. We do everything possible to keep our hunters enthusiastic and pleased. We run a clean camp and allow no alcoholic beverages in the field.
We have a lodge that has most of the comforts of home and will accommodate 12 guests at a time. It is located in a quaint wooded area with meadows and a small stream that runs by.
Our lodge is self-contained with showers, electricity, TV, telephone, dining area and lounge. We also have tent camps available on national forest land which are set up and ready to use [ view pictures of the lodge ].
For the drawing of an antlerless animal, hunting licenses are available through the Colorado Division of Wildlife (ph: 303-825-1192) or we will mail the application upon request.
If needed, you might want to remember that the ranch is in Area 521 (Ragged Mountains) and our outfitter license is #640. We are registered, bonded, and insured.
All hunters born after December 31, 1954 must have a hunter's safety card to receive a hunting license.
